Jessica realized early in life that helping to develop young people was her passion. Consequently, she has spent most if her adult life working with youth in various capacities. She has provided behaviorally and mentally health support for children and worked with the YMCA of Hampton, Va. Upon college graduation, she began her teaching career in the Chapel Hill-Carboro City Schools where she taught Kindergarten several years. She later relocated back to Gastonia, NC and began teaching within the Gaston County Schools, teaching 3rd grade.

In 2017, being led by the Holy Spirit, she accepted a position as the Youth Director of Friendship Christian Church where her father, Bishop John A. McCullough, Jr. is Senior Pastor. This position allows her to influence youth with character development and spiritual growth. Also, during this time as youth director, she facilitates tutoring programs, community service projects, and leads Bible study and worship services for all youth.
